GLASSWARE FOR EVERY DAY USE
The basic constituent of glass is silica (in form of silicon dioxide). It is a chemically inert material and hence used in making containers and vessels of various types for daily use. The utensils made from glass are called glassware. The Glassware can be classified as two major types viz. domestic glassware and laboratory glassware.
The most commonly used glassware in laboratories is test tube, beaker, conical flask, petridishes, reagent bottles etc. In the domestic atmosphere, glassware like tumblers, cups, dishes etc. are commonly used. In Bars and hotels glass containers are used to serve multi-various dishes to customers. The types of glassware that are used in hotels and bars are, coffee cup, tea cup, stemmed cup, goblet, wine glass etc. Ornamental glassware was used even during ancient times. Glassware is very easy to use, convenient and is environmental friendly. Glassware can be tailor made as per user requirement.
